Refriango, the leading Angolan manufacturer and distributor of soft drinks, has agreed a licence with Coca-Cola to start local production of the fruit drinks brand Minute Maid. Refriango is looking at export markets for the brand that include DRC, Mozambique and São Tomé and Príncipe.
According to local media, the licence agreement means that Refriango will produce Minute Maid in three flavours, orange, apple and tropical fruits and will complete the use of its installed capacity. Refriango operates 27 filling lines and has an annual production capacity of 2.5bn litres.
Refriango manufactures a range of 16 brands which including a cider, wine, carbonates, energy drinks, fruit juice and bottled water. Its new line, launched in April 2021, increased its filling capacity by 35%.
