Iberchem’s Scentium opens a new production facility for flavours in Tunisia

Dec 8, 2020

Iberchem Group’s flavour division, Scentium, has opened a new 700m² production facility south of Tunis. The new facility is designed to produce liquid and powder flavours and emulsions tailored for the local market. The company believes it will offer faster production and delivery times to local customers, who were previously serviced from Spain.

Iberchem, which is part of the Croda Group, has operated in Tunisia since 1994. In 2016 it opened a new production facility for fragrances on its site in Ben Arous, south of Tunis. At the time, the company said it had doubled its turnover since 2010 to reach €4.4m euros in 2015. 50% of that turnover was generated by exports to Libya and Algeria, as well as in several other countries in Africa and the Middle East.

The new production facility sits alongside the existing fragrances facility and also includes two warehouses, ‘extensive’ laboratory installations, and administration offices.
