Oct 5, 2020

South Africa’s Competition Commission has conditionally approved Roos Foods, which operates 71 KFC outlets in South Africa, to acquire 10 KFC restaurants owned by Van Eeden Kitskos.

Roos Foods was founded in 1977 and is a major KFC franchisee in South Africa. It has outlets located in Mpumalanga, Gauteng, North West and Limpopo provinces and revenues reported to be $42.4m.

In March 2020, private equity firms RMB Corvest and Iron Bridge Capital acquired a 49% stake in Roos Foods for an undisclosed amount as part of a management buy out.
